Servus! I am Nicolas.

I was born and raised in Vienna, attended a Higher Technical College (HTL) for Civil Engineering, pursued a career in this division, and finally pivoted towards a special study program: BBE. I searched for something exciting, multifarious, and full of opportunities. My job in engineering was just too repetitive. Although it was very well-paid, I decided to devote myself to another path, a step very few can take. This was, of course, to the dismay of my parents, who wanted me to stay in a safe position.

Sometimes, you just have to gather all your courage and do it your way!

The love of adventure, innovation, and entrepreneurship were the most significant contributors to this decision. As of now, it was unequivocally the right one.

As I felt confident about Austrian Matura-related stuff (I actually was a straight-A student in all primary subjects at the Austrian high school leaving exam), I thought the exam would be pretty easy. But I underestimated it a lot! First of all, all the concepts and tasks were presented in a very different way from what I had seen before, and second, the time limit/ stress factor made it even worse. I felt horrible the weeks before the exam, as I felt seriously insecure and had no clue how to approach the preparation.

Upon passing the entrance exam, I was very relieved that I made it on my first try. Nevertheless, I was still disappointed: In school, I was among the best; on the entrance exam, I just performed mediocre. The first "Quantitative Methods I" exam confirmed my suspicion: This stuff is actually pretty difficult. Without a proper learning strategy and the right preparation materials, you'll have to put in much more work but still get far worse grades.

I have experienced first-hand how proper strategies can reduce the pain and hours you put in by at least 30%, so I wanted to share them with as many students as possible. In doing so, I hope to get to know many interesting people from all over the world—and maybe even find co-founders for the next Decacorn (just joking) or just really good friends!
